I personally have not yet taken the plunge into Pinterest, but I know many who have.  Perhaps busyness keeps me from jumping in head first, or maybe laziness keeps me from having one more log in screen to add to my daily regime.  So I admire the ladies who have not only made time to pin, but who also take time to pin with purpose.  Let’s take a look at three women in particular whose daily walk with Christ reflects in their online activities.

Amanda just completed her internship with CRU at USF.  As a local fellow staff, I had the opportunity to get to know her a little better during her time in Tampa.  When asked to describe how she pins with purpose, she explained it this way, “I would think the most ministry would be on my quotes board…I pin a lot of scripture, C.S. Lewis, etc. and then my followers see it.”  In addition to posting positive Christian messages to her personal site, Amanda has used ideas from Pinterest for party planning with CRU.  She also blesses the students she disciple...

I decided to end it.  After six years since our first encounter, our relationship had grown far too personal.  Oh don’t get me wrong; I did not cross the line with any one person.  I crossed the line with one thing: Facebook.  Or perhaps I should say Facebook crossed the line with me when mere acquaintances started knowing far too much about my personal life through my posts and pictures.  Still, in Facebook’s defense, the issues in our relationship travel a two way street, given that my list of friends exceeds 1,000.  But since I can no longer discern whether Facebook has an inappropriate relationship with me, or vise-versa, I will remove my personal page and replace it with one a little more professional in order to allow Facebook to witness more of my relationship with Christ than my daily relationships with friends and family.  My hope is that my mere acquaintances will start talking more about my most recent blog post than my most recent vacation.  After all, if Facebook in itself is an a...

As part of Human Trafficking Awareness Day, Zach Hunter and Compassion International are hosting a Twitter chat about human trafficking. If you have questions about human trafficking, use #HumanTrafficking from 9-10 EST (New York City time) on January 11, 2012.

I learned about today’s efforts from one of our staff family’s teens.  To support awareness, she’ll be wearing  the same dress every day for a year, starting today, Human Trafficking Awareness Day.

Bethany explains:

One reason is because it’ll give me a chance to experience waking up to the same reality day after day. But this is one I’m choosing. For countless others, it’s a choice that someone else made for them.

About twenty staff gathered around a table for an hour at CSU2011 to discuss evangelistic blogging.  Of course, the interest was high and therefore I wanted to somehow continue the discussion online.  So, I created a Facebook group devoted to blogging for ministry which I hope will:

  • help CCC staff and friends with blogging as a ministry, and
  • help us know each other and our blogs.

(We may end up with more or better ways to do this.  Let me know if using Facebook is a problem for you.)

This “secure” group is for Campus Crusade for Christ staff and friends who already blog for ministry or want to learn how.  We can learn from each other about how we disciple believers, connect with unbelievers and/or with our supporters.  It’s not completely “secure” because it’s on Facebook’s servers, but I created it as an invitation-only group so only the “e4e blogging for ministry” group can see what we are discussing.

This week we have a discussion about  optimizing your “About Page”.  Follow the link if you’...
