College students spend an average of five hours a day online. (Facebook is usually a part of that.)   So, when it comes to building spiritual movements with students, everyone knows that online is important.  However, “what to do” is still a little fuzzy for some.  One campus leader took decisive action. Guess which high-tech country he started in?  Ghana.

How do I share the Gospel?

Emmanuel Richard, our student-led leader for West Africa, created training in how to use EveryStudent.com, how to respond to emails and how to use EveryStudent.com on campus, on Facebook, etc.  Then, he gathered seventy Christian students at the University of Ghana, and trained them.  He trained another seventy Christian students at University of Lagos, Nigeria.  If my math is right, he’s trained about 450 students throughout Ghana and Nigeria in the last nine months, then in Ethiopia and Kenya. Liberia is next.

A New Women’s Website

The amazing and hard-working women of Magdalena USA and the innovative team at Global Media Outreach (GMO) have created a new evangelistic women’s website, JesusForWomen.com.  This new website is similar to other GMO websites except that the message and design is for women.

Starting mid-October, visitors will be directed to the new women’s website when they click on the button “How Can Jesus Change My Life Today?,” located on the Magdalena Today home page.   Hundreds of inquiries about Jesus are anticipated daily.   At JesusForWomen.com, visitors are given an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ as Sharon Jaynes, author and JESUS film donor, shares her story and a clear gospel presentation.  A community of on-line missionaries comprised solely of women will answer the email questions of the women who visit this new website.

Do you have a desire to be an on-line missionary and to form a community with other women to reach out to women worldwide?  Mag...

If you travel or are interested in a missions trip, you might be surprised to learn how much you could teach someone who hasn’t had as much exposure to computers as you have (even when you might think you aren’t qualified in this area). You may do some things on a regular basis on your computer that you don’t even think twice about and yet you might tell your friends that you’re not comfortable with technology.

Travel

If you’re going overseas, could you add a little one-on-one computer training with some of our overseas national staff wives?  They may have limited options for ministry, however, your time with these staff sisters could go a LONG way in helping them with their computer skills and opening up ministry opportunities for them.

NOTE: If you want to take some of your old technology with you to donate to our staff overseas, you’ll have to get approval from the legal office at headquarters first.

Missions Trips

I just ran across this Jesus Film mission trip to teach English and computer skills over...

Every day, over two million people search on the internet for “I need God,” “Who is Jesus,” “prayer” and other spiritual questions. Global Media Outreach is available to meet these spiritual needs and presents the gospel around the clock over the internet. Every few seconds, visitors come to one of GMO’s 102+ websites, indicate some sort of  decision for Christ, and ask for follow-up. You can watch (and pray for) this as it happens on a new website showing what countries these visitors are from (see screenshot above). The counter resets  to zero every midnight California time. Currently, the site is recording over 65,000 indicated decisions for Christ each day globally, and the number continues to grow.

Global Media Outreach’s websites present the good news of Jesus Christ in over 12 major languages used on the Internet with more to come. More than 4,400+ volunteers (called Online Missionaries) are located in countries all over the world and respond personally to visitors who send in quest...
