Just in time for Easter, the short-film My Last Day is now freely available for you to watch or download!

The story unfolds through the eyes of a criminal who receives the same crucifixion sentence as Christ. The criminal’s own guilt causes him to realize more fully Christ’s innocence. “My Last Day” is a short film of regret, repentance and redemption that frames the story of salvation in a new and refreshing way that will capture the attention of a new generation.Global Short Film Network

The film is apparently the first professionally produced Christian movie ever done in animé (Japanese-style animation). It’s been in the making for 7 years!

The story was written by Barry Cook, who directed Mulan and was visual effects supervisor for Beauty and the Beast, both Disney films. It was animated by Tokyo’s renowned STUDIO4°C. I believe the type of animation we desir...

Three minutes is short, but it’s plenty of time to start sharing with someone how God has changed your life!

In our weekly event Live! (as in broadcast live), our students share what God has done in their life; how they came to know him, and how their life has changed since! We’ve been recording these stories on video so that they can be used in the future too. This is an excellent witness because:

  • Students can relate to other students easily.
  • It’s a real life example of what God has done — especially if someone knew that person before they came to know Christ.
  • You can’t argue with someone’s life story.
  • It’s memorable.

Check back here soon, because I look forward to sharing some of these videos with you!

Have you ever shared with someone how God changed your life? If not (or even if you have), you may find some of the tools I’m using with students to be useful.

You can download a short document designed to help you write your own 3-minute story of what God’s done in your life. Download it now!

But in your hearts re...

Today we closed the sermon series on Acts in our church. Acts is a fascinating book (the 5th one of the New Testament and the second by author Luke) describing the dynamic development of the first-century church.

The series was built around 10 main figures (or groups) in the story of Acts, each one [...]

Auckland Student Life’s Download is a weekend retreat held every year at the end of the first term, and it’s coming up this weekend! Download has two purposes:

  1. To provide an opportunity for students to get to know each other better. Often students who have just got involved with Student Life have only met the students in their Action Group (bible study), and perhaps a few others. This gives them a chance to see a piece of the wider movement!
  2. We get a chance to communicate the vision of Student Life to those who are thinking about being involved, or who have been hanging around the fringes somewhat. We’ll challenge them to be involved!

Please pray that the weekend goes well. Specifically, pray that we can get a good amount of students along, that they have fun, and feel both challenged and welcomed! Please pray for me as I prepare to give a talk about the vision of Student Life. Pray that I can challenge students effectively!
