“I don’t know how to explain this other than that God has chosen now as the time for Ethiopia to receive him.

The things we see and the stories we hear seem to be straight out of the book of Acts.”

One year ago, Seth was a senior at the University of Arkansas. He and a friend had committed to going on STINT to Ethiopia but they had no team, no women committed to go. God worked in incredible ways to raise up 3 women to go with them.

Seth sent us this audio last week and we added pictures (actually Michael Allen, our intern video guru) and showed it at our weekly meeting. 4 guys came up after Cru desiring to go to Ethiopia on summer project.

I’d encourage you to watch and be encouraged by how God is moving in Ethiopia (and pray for him to do the same across Africa).

Some great quotes from this 3 minute video:

  • 25 years ago Ethiopia was a closed, Communist nation. Christianity was illegal.
  • Now Ethiopia is open to the gospel and it is spreading like an unquenchable fire.
  • The harvest is plentiful and the l...

Meet Fidel Online Missionary in Ethiopia serving the Spanish community
I was born on a sailing ship to Cuba. Ethiopia used to be a communist country and my family was sent to teach Ethiopian children in Cuba. My father gave me the name Fidel after the Cubaian President Fidel Castro. After three years we returned to Ethiopia as a family.

I accepted JESUS CHRIST as my personal Lord and Savior in 1994. Right after that I was very involved in “Operation Philip”, an outreach project coordinated by the “Great Commission Ministry” as Campus Crusade is called in Ethiopia. I wanted to go back to Cuba. It was not easy for me but I succeeded to go there for further education in 2003.

I spend 8 years in Cuba. My second visit to Cuba was very unique. God gave me the opportunity to become the president of the Christian fellowship we had on Campus. While studying one of my priorities was to evangelise and disciple as many people as I could all over Cuba.

After completing my studies my successor for the student fe...

Before I joined Campus Crusade for Christ in Ethiopia (Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia), I  worked for an Ethiopian Telecom Company. While working there, God put in my heart the desire to start a company fellowship where we could pray and share our faith within the company. I called 5 of my close friends and shared the vision with them. I asked them to call their friends to our second meeting.

Eleven people joined our second meeting and it kept growing every week. We started claiming our country Ethiopia for God. We sent two local missionaries to remote places by partnering with the local CCC office.
Then we decided to name our fellowship  “Righteous Manna” Fellowship. The movement spread to other private companies and the government sector.

Since I left the telecom company I stayed in touch and mentor leaders of the fellowship and speak in some of their programs. Last month I got an opportunity to be with them and shared how they can change their world using the media. I also encouraged them to ...

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11 The reason we celebrate Christmas is because of JESUS! Let me share you today about the old game associated with Christmas in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is one of the oldest nations in Africa. It still follows the ancient Julian calendar, so Ethiopians celebrate Christmas on January 7. The Ethiopian celebration of Christ’s birth is called Ganna. It is a day when families attend church.

A brutal ball-and-stick game with high injury potential, ganna is how we do Christmas (it’s also our name for Christmas). Around the time of Ganna, the men and boys play a game that is also called ganna. It is somewhat like hockey, played with a curved stick and a round wooden ball. But ganna is anything but peaceful. The balls are made from olive wood or leather, which can easily knock out a player. Because there are no rules about the size of the fields, the goals are sometimes so far apart that neither team scores by nightfall on Chri...

Every day more than a million people search the Internet for God, life and some questions related with spiritual issues. If I may ask now, have you ever asked yourself where you will look for solution for some thoughts on your mind? What do you do when something came to your mind on spiritual matters? I asked this question many times to students while I train them to be online missionaries, and most of them answered to me they go to GOOGLE to get answer for their questions .

So if that is the case, we need more online missionaries who will help the people who are asking questions about Life and God. Because the right questions need to get right answer from the spirit filled Online Missionaries. By aiming this we had our first ever Online Missionaries (OMs) gathering in Addis Ababa from August 19-21, 2011. Seventeen OMs showed up and we had great time at @ TLM center.

We discussed on

  • About making the Virtually led Movement vision stick
  • Had a discussion on making discipleship a priority on email co...
