TntMPD is a free software that helps you manage your relationships with your donors.  I highly recommend TntMPD to manage your names, addresses, email addresses, birthdays and anniversaries.   For those of you not keeping track of ministry partners, TntMPD is still a great contact management tool.

Just to give you that little nudge to start using TntMPD, I’ll try to think of everything I use it for.  I used other software for over 15 years, but I would not go back.  TntMPD does all that the other (pricey) software did and actually does more.  It’s easy to manage my database of almost 700 names!

  • keep a task list of who needs a phone call, letter, etc.
  • receive automatic tasks for thank you notes when new gifts come in or if I have not written a thank you for over a year
  • track fund appeal efforts
  • keep a history of appointments, phone calls, emails, etc.
  • receive address changes from Campus Crusade’s Donor Services

I decided to write some posts in a few blogs (including this one) using specific Bible verses,  Ephesians 2: 8 -10, as part of my text because I suspected that reference would possibly get millions of hits yesterday.

Last night, the University of Florida Gators were playing in the Sugar Bowl against undefeated Cincinnati. As he does in every game, Gators quarterback, Tim Tebow, wrote a different Bible verse  on his eye black.  I read recently that when Tim wore John 3:16 under his eyes last season, Google recorded 93 million hits that day!  To confirm this, I decided to check Google Trends for a handful of this season’s games and found that the verses I checked were number one for Google searches on game days. . . and not just number one, but “volcanic,” indicating a high volume.

So,  I was hoping that using Tim’s verses yesterday would drive more visitors to my blogs.  I tested three of my blogs.  One had the verse as the first line in the text and was posted during halftime, drawing two vi...

I was in Outlook Help for some reason when one of the search results caught my eye…  “10 Ways to Get More From Outlook.”

I followed the link to this site.  After reading through the ten add-ons, I decided to try xobni and I love it!  Watch this video and then download xobni.   This free download will help you manage your emails on Outlook.   Xobni may take a while initially to catalogue your emails when you first install it if you have a lot of emails.

Xobni searches messages by content or by people.  I can find people faster and have a history of our eConversations.  I’ve had fun adding photos to a few of the profiles and found it very easy.  (I recommend making a xobni folder in your My Pictures folder to keep everyone in one place, then it is easy to add from the same folder every time.)

I like the networking feature that allows me to email someone that my friend has emailed.  I did not have to dig up the address, but found this person under my friend’s network.

If you like any of the other ...

If you have a website or a blog, chances are you want to increase the traffic to your site.

I just tried the free service, Website Grader, offered by HubSpot.  In less than a minute I received a graded and detailed report on each of my various blogs (both as a link in an email as well as the actual web page for the report).  After a quick look at the reports, I immediately made some changes to help Google and other search engines find my blogs more easily.

HubSpot even saved the links to my reports so I can go back and make additional changes when I have time later on for making more improvements to my sites.
