Selegna is a young staff woman serving with Campus Crusade in Panama.  Scheduled to be a small group facilitator at the MinistryNet Conference we held in Bangkok in November, she knew that it would take many hours of travel to arrive at the conference.  But little did she know the extra travel adventures the Lord had in store for her.  See Selegna’s story.

Thailand was chosen as the location for our conference because we knew that staff and volunteers from over 30 different countries would be attending.  For the majority of these people – who are not Americans, Canadians nor from Western Europe – travel to any international destination can be uncertain, filled with paperwork, delays, visa requirements  and generally very frustrating.  Westerners usually receive more privileges and international travel is much easier.

We chose the location of Bangkok because it is much easier and cheaper for many of our international staff to travel there than destinations in North America.  Thailand is very open ...

What happens when 170 creative volunteers and staff from 32 countries gather in one place for three days to answer the following question? ….

How do we leverage the huge opportunities of the internet to deliver the timeless, unchanging message of Christ in fresh, changing ways?

Earlier this month, my team from Orlando helped host this major conference in Bangkok, Thailand.  Even amidst terrible flooding in the country, our gathering was a major success – thanks to God.

Bangkok or Bust: Campus Crusade Talks Tech Amidst Historic Thailand Floods was the article the Christian Post e-zine wrote detailing.  You can check out the article here.

One of the unique of our conference was spending two hours each morning in small innovative workgroups. Each workgroup made a plan to solve a problem or develop an innovative approach to moving people from making a decision, to being a disciple of Jesus. At the end of the conference, each group presented their proposed solution as a video.  The best ...

Earlier this month I was in Bangkok with 170 others at the Ministry Net conference. This conference was put on by Campus Crusade for Christ for people who are involved in using the internet for evangelism and discipleship.

On the first morning there I was woken up at about 6:30 by the conference director to go to the airport to buy a same-day return ticket to Singapore. Watch the video below to find out why …

Selegna was on the design team with me, so it was really great that she was able to join us (even if a bit late) and participate in the conference she had had a part in planning.

Help2 video on Vimeo shows flood relief work.

Have you heard about the flooding in Thailand?

Since early October …

  • Over 400 people killed
  • 760,000 homes damaged
  • Over 2.3 million people affected
  • $5.1 billion in damages nationwide

This is the worst flooding Thailand has seen in 60 years!

Check out the video above to see how Campus Crusade staff in Thailand are responding to provide help in the name of Christ.  This is an opportunity for people to come to know Him.

“Flight Cancelled.”  When you are a long ways from home and getting ready to board an international flight, these are not the words you want to hear.

Yesterday I departed Orlando en route to an exciting conference in Thailand which my team is helping sponsor.  About 200 Internet strategy leaders from CCC all around the world will attend.  … And I certainly am hoping to be one of them.

The plan was to catch a connecting flight in Detroit which would fly me over the Pacific.  But Delta ran into some unforeseen mechanical problems with the 747 well before boarding was to begin in Detroit.  Several mechanics were dispatched as you see in the photo here.

So Delta issued meal vouchers and hotel vouchers to all the grounded passengers.  Delta sent me to a nice hotel and got me booked on another flight on Sunday (hopefully this one WILL get off the ground.)

Of course, another variable to all this is the fact that all of our luggage was loaded (and is still there!) on the waiting to be repaired aircraft:
