Did you know April 29th is Internet Evangelism Day?  In fact, the entire month of April is Digital Outreach Month.

Are you doing anything on the internet to reach out to people with the love of Christ? Whether or not you already are, why not pick up a new idea this week?

  • Learn more about Internet Evangelism Day and find a lot of ideas and great resources (see important notes about free downloads this week and a chance to win two books).
  • Curt signed up to be an online missionary with Global Media Outreach. Have you?
  • Did you know you can specifically request to answer eMails received from women who are seeking God?
  • Check out these creative ideas from EveryStudent.com for sharing your faith.  (I’ll make myself accountable to you, I’m very interested in trying this idea in particular: it’s a mini-survey where you gather eMail addresses and send requested evangelistic articles to people.)

Over 200 have visited this year’s blog tour.  Have you?  It’s not too late.  The tour continues until mid-May.

Every spring, the blog tour helps you discover Campus Crusade for Christ blogs. You may find a new blog that you would like to follow.

Whether or not you choose to follow a blog, these posts were submitted by the authors. Please recommend posts from the tour to your friends through Facebook and Twitter.  Thank you!

TOURS

NOTES:

  •  Another tour, but shorter, runs during Advent.
  • Come back regularly to hop on the bus for a tour of some great sites, or better yet, receive a weekly eMail, with the links to the most recent posts on the tour, by checking the last box on this subscription form.  I’ll send the eMail on Thursday in time for you to recommend these bloggers with #FF on Twitter. Join me for a trip around the blogosphere… and into the Twittersphere this year, too!

I’m offering Best of Tours, a “road trip” to top posts from Campus Crusade for Christ bloggers.  This year’s tour emphasizes social sharing.   If you’re reading posts from the tour, please share these posts with your friends on Facebook and Twitter.  If I know a Twitter account or a Facebook fan page associated with the blog, I’ll include it.

Get on the bus!

If you plan to read these great posts, I’ll add a new “tour stop” every other day for five to seven weeks. Come back regularly to hop on the bus for a tour of some great sites, or better yet, receive a weekly eMail, with the links to the most recent posts on the tour, by checking the last box on this subscription form.  I’ll send the eMail on Thursday in time for you to recommend these bloggers with #FF on Twitter (see Notes).

If you’re on Campus Crusade staff and use blogging as a ministry tool… join the tour before the tour runs out!

Were you at CSU2011?  Even if you weren’t, today’s your opportunity to attend Brian Barela’s seminar, Taking MPD to the Next Level with Social Media.

Listen in
  • Open this link on the Staff Web. Scroll down to the seminars for Saturday, July 23rd. Brian’s talk is near the end of the list.
  • Download (either open or save) the seminar audio file.

Don’t be overwhelmed! Brian has a LOT of content, so you’ll probably want to save the file and listen several times.  Just pick out two things to try for now and come back to listen for your next steps after that. I don’t know how long these seminar files will be available, so that’s another good reason to save the file.  (I put several files on my MP3 player and listened during my workouts.)

How are you using social media with your donor team? Do you have any suggestions to share?

Dan Zarrella of Hubspot analysed 200,000 tweets containing links to find out the best times, days, length of tweet, and even the best position for the link in your tweet.  And more.

The only thing I had to figure out was about paper.li …  Turns out it’s an online newspaper you create for yourself with the content you’re interested in.  I already was doing that with feedly.com (which I can also read on our Kindle Fire).  So, I think I’ll sign up for paper.li and  follow articles that I’m interested in tweeting (probably info to enhance my blogs’ content).  I think I’ll keep everything else I might read on Feedly.  So, Feedly will be like my own “Reader’s Digest” feed for relaxed, personal reading and paper.li will be similar to “Newsweek” for when I want to keep up with technology and other news.
